Ring is a pretty good Wi-Fi enabled video doorbell that streams to your mobile

The Ring Video Doorbell blends traditional monitoring and security into a modern gadget that streams live audio and video of a home’s front doorstep directly to a smartphone or tablet.

It enables homeowners to see and speak with visitors from anywhere using the Ring mobile apps – currently available for iOS and Android.

Ring Video Doorbell’s built-in motion sensors trigger instant mobile alerts when they detect movement, giving users the ability to know what’s happening on their property at all times. The 720p HD wide-angle lens packs in sensors to cover a 180-degree field of view and up to 30 feet in range. Users can set up motion detection zones to make sure they only receive important notifications. Of course, you’d not want to monitor the area of your dog’s kennel who’s running after his tail much too often.

The footage can be reviewed instantly or sent to family and friends, and can be accessed anytime thanks to Ring’s cloud recording. Ring offers cloud storage for free until April 1, 2015, and will charge $3 per month for 6 months of video and audio recordings after that.

The doorbell packs in low voltage Wi-Fi PCB that operates on internal rechargeable lithium polymer battery that lasts for over a year. There are infrared LEDs that provide clear visuals at any time of day and speakers and microphone with active noise cancellation. The devices are outdoor approved for heat, rain, sleet, or snow. Ring offers lifetime purchase protection, and if your Video Doorbell is stolen, the company will replace the same.

The Ring Video Doorbell makes daily life comfortable, and you’d never need to worry about missing a delivery or a visitor while securely monitoring your house when it is unattended.
